MacPac 2000 provides a sophisticated set of tools that allows administrators to make extensive customizations without touching code. The MacPac object model enables firms with VB programmers to build their own macro package. Our component-based structure and databases allow us to offer both administrative and development partnerships to firms that want to benefit from this flexibility. These partnerships are offered as extensions of the standard MacPac package and can be purchased as yearly subscriptions.

The Administrative Partnership is designed for firms that want to customize all or part of MacPac and develop additional templates in house. VB programming experience is not required. Project Managers work with your staff throughout the customization and administrative process to ensure your implementation of MacPac is successful.

Designed for code-less customization, the Administrative Partnership includes the following services:

• Initial, on-site MacPac-led document discovery to assess the firm's development needs.
• An initial, three-day, on-site training workshop for up to four technology staff members. Training includes:
  • Hands-on customization and administration of MacPac 2000's standard templates and macros.
  • Training on the MacPac Administrative utilities.
  • Training on the MacPac Template Architect, a development tool that allows for code-less design and creation of sophisticated, MacPac-like templates.
• Instant access to a dedicated administrative project manager who can answer your customization questions for the two weeks immediately following your training workshop. PC Anywhere connections will be available immediately upon request.
• 10 technical support incidents beginning three weeks after the initial administrative training. Incidents can include all topics covered in training as well as questions regarding general customization, template and forms assessment, database issues, etc. Further incidents will be supported at our standard, hourly rate.
• Upgrades and patches for the MacPac 2000 component set.
• Upgrades and patches to the MacPac 2000 macro package, including the Numbering Toolbar and Contact Integration. This includes any new templates and macros created by MacPac for the MacPac 2000 macro package.
• Upgrades and patches to the MacPac Administrative utilities.
• Upgrades and patches to the MacPac Template Architect.

The Development Partnership is designed for firms that wish to use code to customize all or part of MacPac or create their own template and macro package. We offer a team approach to customization by offering on-site workshops on the use of our core component set for further development and enhancements.

MacPac 2000 is comprised of a run-time version of the MacPac core components and a design-time version of the MacPac macro package, which is built using the core components. The MacPac core component set allows firms to develop their own macro package using the fundamental structure of the MacPac package. The object models exposed by our DLLs makes new development and customization significantly faster, easier, reliable, and consistent. The firm's developers can use as much, or as little, of our design-time files as they see fit. Should developers wish to use only the core components, the design-time files are still valuable as sample code and learning tools.

The Development Partnership includes the following services:

  • Training on the MacPlus Development toolbar, a set of tools designed to aid Word developers code in VB and VBA. Tools include our Keyboard Assignment Utility, Document Variable Viewer, Menu Editor, etc.
  • Training on the MacPac Administrative utilities.
  • Training on the MacPac Template Architect, a development tool that allows for code-less design and creation of sophisticated, MacPac-like templates.
